2016 Starfish Student Art Awards

The 2016 Starfish Student Art Awards celebrate NSCAD’s creative leaders. The seventh annual edition will be presented Thursday, April 21, 2016, 7 to 9 pm at NSCAD’s Port Campus, 1107 Marginal Road, Halifax.
This is an event of drama, glamour and celebration, incorporating an art exhibition, awards ceremony and art sale of student works. Join us for hors d’oeuvres and drinks while you peruse the artworks of the 10 student finalists, one of whom will be named the 2016 Starfish Student Art Award prize winner.
About the award
Established by property developer and art collector Louis Reznick and NSCAD University to recognize and promote exceptional students, the award celebrates top talent across 10 visual arts disciplines at the university.
The winning artist receives a $5,000 purchase prize, with the artwork added to a special section of the permanent President’s Collection at NSCAD University known as “The Reznick Family Art Bank.” Nine finalists receive $1,000 each. This premier award provides young artists with vital visibility as they embark on their careers.
